John Potter was yet again extremely disappointed with his team's inability to win.

Speaking after the match against Stirling Albion John Potter told the media:-

"It was not good enough and we probably didn't deserve to win the game. I thought that we were too slow on moving the ball and we had one threat - David Hopkirk. When we fed him the ball we looked a threat. He was putting balls into the box and creating chances but we were just not on the end of them to score.

"We gave away another goal from a setpiece. It was disappointing with guys not doing their job. They had two or three corners in the game and looked a threat, we had six or seven and didn't. That is disappointing.

"I thought the subs made an impact when they came on; Alex Whittle with a cross for Andy Geggan to score again which was positive. David Hopkirk was a positive with a good performance again but the rest were not good enough. It is as simple as that."

The Pars manager was asked what can be changed to claw back his play off hopes?

"We need to win, it is as simple as that. The performance last week was great for 85 minutes, it was positive, creating chances and we were on the front foot. We defended well and then had a sloppy five minutes at the end.

"We set up the same way with the same team to show a bit of faith in the players but it wasn't until we added a little bit extra with the subs that it gave us a bit more. You are keeping faith with the players hoping that they can go out and give the same performance. They didn't apart from probably David Hopkirk, he was the only one who got pass marks for me."

The match was the first time in his managerial career at Dunfermline that John Potter had named the same starting eleven for consecutive matches. He continued:-

"You want to get an eleven that is regular but when you give them that opportunity to keep the jersey and it was not good enough."

The draw leaves Dunfermline in seventh place in League One, ten points off the joint leaders Morton and Forfar Athletic and six behind Brechin City in the final play off place. The Pars manager understands all too well what his team urgently needs to do:-

"We need wins, draws are not good enough and they will not get us anywhere. That is why we were pushing towards the end, we have to win games of football and we have to start doing it now. That is another game away and we have not clawed back the three points that we were hoping too. We have to go again next week and try and get the win."

Potter ruled out the suggestion that he might be running out of ideas:-

"Not at all. Look at last week, there were positives there. We are just not scoring goals when we are on top in games. We are creating and getting in good areas. That is the difficult bit in football to score goals. If you can start scoring and putting away chances then it eases the pressure off, eases the crowd, eases the players and then you can go and play better football. The longer it goes on without scoring people get frustrated, the players get frustrated and you can see it in their play.

"We are telling them to keep doing what they are doing and it will come but it is obviously difficult for them at the moment. The fans have every right to be frustrated; we are frustrated as players and coaching staff. As the manager I get frustrated as well but it is our job to put it right on the pitch. We are the only ones who can do it. We are not giving up on anything, there are still games to go but we have to win quickly.

"At times there were times when the ball was bouncing about the box. Guys were jumping in and people not delivering crosses when they should have. These are things that the players know. We tell them what we are looking for and they don't seem to do it when they go out on the pitch. I don't think we get enough people in the box in front of goal.

"Andy Geggan is one who times his run well and he got another goal. He is adding goals to his game but they all have to chip in. We have got five or six strikers here and we are sticking with players at certain times but they are not scoring goals. It is up to us to keep working at it to try and get the ball in the back of the net.

"We need a consistent run of games, a consistent run of results. I would just take wins at the moment rather than performances. Today was neither and that was not good enough."

The manager confirmed that Paul George was fine after requiring to be substituted towards the end of the first half.

"He got a bang on his cheek near the start of the game. He was feeling sick and had to bring him off. It was a change that we had to make."
