Foodbank help from boardroom
Monday, 24th Nov 2014DAFC Board show their support for club’s foodbank appeal
Pars Directors Jim Leishman, Ian Hunter, Billy Braisby, Margaret Ross, Bob Garmory and Ross McArthur hand over their personal donations to the appeal fund, before Saturday’s game.
Last week, Dunfermline Athletic FC launched an appeal to all supporters to donate to the town's foodbank. The Dunfermline foodbank is part of the Trussel Trust, which has provided food to nearly 2900 people in the last 12 months.
Volunteers from across the “Pars Family” have already set up collection points, arranging transport, contacting local businesses for help, and publicising the initiative. Fans were able to take food and other items to the stadium or other collection points, and make cash donations both at Saturday’s game and our next home game against Ayr United on 6 December.
Everybody at DAFC (including the players, staff and board) are absolutely delighted to support this joint “Pars Family” initiative, alongside the PST, DASC, the Kincardine Supporters Club, the Centenary Club Lifeline, 1885 Business Club and the Former Players Association.
How you can help...
You don't even have to go shopping! You probably already have many items desperately needed by the foodbank - such as tins, jars and packets of food, toiletries and cleaning products. You can download a foodbank list http://www.dunfermline.foodbank.org.uk/ to see what's needed most. The full foodbank list is also detailed below for ease.
