Betfred Cup: Qualifying Group D v Peterhead, Tuesday 17 July 2018, 7.45pm kick off at East End Park

Peterhead are the opposition as Dunfermline kick off their competitive season in the Betfred Cup. The Blue Toon have visited Dunfermline only five times and the Pars have won three and drawn two.

The sides have met twice before in this competition. The first time in August 2008 was the first ever meeting between the clubs and Dunfermline won 2-0 thanks to goals early in the second half from Nick Phinn and Andy Kirk.

Last season they also met in the Betfred Cup, the Pars 5-1 win setting them up to win their group but Peterhead were runners up thanks to wins over East Fife, Elgin City and Hearts. They come to East End Park on the back of a goalless draw at Brechin on Saturday and having picked up an extra point for winning the penalty shoot out 5-4.

Joe CARDLE struck again ten minutes later It was when Williamson slipped the ball to Kallum Higginbotham and then ran on to connect again on the right byeline. Ryan`s cutback was perfect for Joe who smashed the ball home from ten yards. 3-0

A lofted ball from Michael Paton just inside his own half picked out McMANUS who chipped the keeper from the left corner of the penalty box. 4-0
