Whisky Night a Big Success

Former Players Association come together for a night of Whisky tasting

The Pars Former Players Association held another of their popular whisky tasting evenings on Friday 1st March, in Charlie D`s. Such is the demand for tickets for these events that it was sold out weeks in advance.

The stars of the show were whisky experts Barry Wilson and Daryl Haldane who gave a very informative and amusing guide through the initial tastings of four fine single malts culminating in a very fine special Dalmore donated by the lads themselves. In addition to Barry and Daryl the whiskies were sponsored by Donald Adamson, The Pars Supporters Trust, Jock McNeill, Brian Evangelista and Chris Wishart. A big thank you to Paddy Wilson who sponsored the lads attendance.

After a delicious and entertaining tasting session a tasty buffet fitted the bill perfectly. This was followed by a showing of Craig Brown`s excellent film summarising last season`s Lap of Honour project. Barry and Daryl had a surprise for everyone with a special Whisky Cocktail which they had prepared.

As speech became louder (and more slurred) it was time for the raffle. Prizes were provided by Kenny McLachlan, Ian Westwater, Mo Hutton, Pete Campbell, Grant Tierney, Donald Adamson and Chris Wishart.

The final part of the evening allowed tasters to sample from a range of whiskies provided by The Pars Supporters Trust, Ian Westwater, Jock McNeill, Brain Evangelista and Chris Wishart.

Everyone had a great night and look forward to the next event. The merry crew headed home (some needed assistance !) in their taxis and lifts and The Pars completed a perfect weekend by winning on the Saturday.
