"We are really disappointed by the way we played, we never played anything like the way we can do.

We never played to our capabilities

Listen to this Ryan Scully interview

Dunfermline goalkeeper, Ryan Scully talked to the website after the cup tie at Ibrox, he reflected:-

"It was a tough one to be fair, Ibrox is not a nice place when you go down by a few goals. We are really disappointed by the way we played, we never played anything like the way we can do.  Do that at Ibrox and you are going to get punished."

Ryan may have let in four goals but he was a candidate for Dunfermline's man of the match since he kept out far more chances than he let in.

"We were pushing forward and when that happens you are going to leave spaces. I had to be on my toes and I made a few alright saves."

Rangers v DAFC

The 21 year old who is on loan from Partick Thistle admitted that every one of the Pars squad had been looking forward to this cup tie:-

"Ever since the draw was made it was a great cup tie. You can get away from the league for a wee bit. It is a one off game. We prepared right and were looking forward to it because we thought we had a good chance.

"There is massive disappointment and the boys are devastated. We had no complaints about any decisions against us, Rangers were by far the better team."

Rangers are 23 points ahead of the Pars in League One and Dunfermline themselves are 8 points ahead of third placed Ayr United. McCoists' men are a big hurdle for teams in that league with only Stranraer managing to take a point. Ryan described them as in a league of their own:-

"It is a big difference playing Rangers compared to the other teams in our league but it is a great experience for such a young squad and we can only get better for that."

Ryan Scully v Rangers

Dunfermline will face Rangers again at Ibrox in the league on Saturday 15th March and in the final game of the league programme at East End Park in May.

"Hopefully we can give them a proper game and get a point or three off them."

Ryan who is on loan from Partick Thistle until the end of the season praised the Pars travelling support for making the trip to Ibrox but he did note that this was just the norm:-

"Especially in away games, the fans have been coming out in their numbers. They have been excellent and fair play to them."

Next in this run of four games on the road is Station Park, Forfar and a team that Dunfermline have struggled against of late. The goalkeeper who has made 29 appearances now for Jim Jefferies' team added:-

"It is a hard place to go but hopefully we can set the record straight and get three points up there. We must get back to winning ways against them."
