Preview Queen of the South
Saturday, 20th Apr 2019Ladbrokes Championship: (away) Saturday 20th April 2019, kick off 3.00pm at Palmerston Park
This really is a crazy old league and no club is better placed to testify that than the Pars next opponents Queen of the South. A Stephen Dobbie inspired Queens were looking likely candidates for a play off place in mid January when they defeated Dundee in the Scottish Cup. Then a run of seven successive defeats saw them sink into the relegation struggle.
An excellent out of the blue win at Tannadice at the end of March eased the pressure but even after two draws they now find themselves really threatened. They will treat this as a must win game but is definitely a match where Stevie Crawford and his players want the three points too.
Even though remaining fixtures pitch teams against each other, any of the bottom six teams could still be relegated. An away win would take Dunfermline to 44 points and mean QOS could only reach 42 but a home win would take the Dumfries side to within three of the Pars.
