Pars need to prove that it is wrong to write them off

Friday, 6th Mar 2015

We have to prove people wrong.

Josh Falkingham knows that Dunfermline have had some good results against Saturday's opposition, Ayr United over the last two seasons. He warns however that a win is the most important thing to take out of the home game.

"We have to take one game at a time. Every game is a cup final at the minute for us. If we want to get in these play offs we have seriously got to win. It's not to look at every game, but this game."

With other teams already desperate to count Dunfermline out of the play offs, Josh feels that is a spur:-

"Whenever you get written off you always want to prove people wrong. That is the situation that we find ourselves in and we have got to use everything that we can. Time is running out and we have to prove people wrong by doing well in the last quarter of the season."

The goal that Josh scored on Tuesday night - in just 35 seconds - is the fastest he can recall scoring but he feels that Dunfermline should have gone on and won the game.

"It was a fairly scrappy game, conditions weren't great; the pitch wasn't great. We had put ourselves in a winning position and we should have held on to that. I just caught it sweetly and it went straight in.

"We dominated the first half and then in the second half they got a head of steam downhill. They were getting balls into the box doing what they are good at - getting forward quickly. I felt that we invited pressure on ourselves. Unfortunately we gave the goal away and seemed to fizzle out a bit.

"They hit the bar with a chance and I had a good chance to maybe nick one and get a reasonable result. We should maybe have been more ruthless having got into a winning position to make it count."
