Hibs fan who wants to do well and score goals against them regardless

Liam Buchanan

Liam Buchanan supported Hibs as a boy but his only experience on that hallowed Easter Road surface was in a boy's club final.

"I need to make the team first but it would be a great experience going out to play at a stadium like Easter Road especially when you have grown up always supporting Hibs.

"You get frustrated if you are not involved on a Saturday but you just have to respect the gaffer's opinion and realise that it is more important that the team are doing well. At the start of the season they went on a really good run so you couldn't really grumble that you are not in the team. You just have to keep working hard in training then like in the Inverness game when you get a chance come on and make some sort of impact.

"I didn't really think about the consequences of missing. I just felt confident and stepped up to it hoping that I will hit it well and go down the road with at least a point. We were unlucky not to nick it in the end."

Liam Buchanan v ICT

If there is a penalty given at Easter Road Liam will be hoping to take it

"At the end of the day it is just another team you are playing. You want to do well and score goals regardless."

Hibs might have turned the corner recently observed the Hibs fan:-

"They have been picking up good results and have some excellent players who on their day can go and win games. Colin Calderwood has done a good job but it is not going to be a short term rather a long term fix."

Liam Buchanan

Last Saturday Liam missed the chance to play against Dundee United when illness kept him out. This week his manager will be glad to see him back since the injury list has grown to nine and with Gary Mason injured Jim McIntyre might only have 14 of his first team squad available for selection against Hibs. Liam knows that creates an opportunity for those players who have not been regular starters. He has started just 14 matches since coming to Dunfermline from Partick Thistle:-

"Sometimes if you are not getting a chance then an injury can maybe get you in there. Obviously it is not what you want for your team mates but sometimes on a personal level it can help."

Liam Buchanan v East Fife

The 26 year old striker recalled being 2-0 down against Hibs in the first match between the teams in September:-

"We kept working hard even though we were two goals down. We always feel that we have something in the team that will get us goals."
