Pars boss Stevie Crawford thought that his side was really creative and caused Ross County a lot of problems in the first half.
"With a little bit more luck because some of the finishing brought out a couple of decent saves without being critical of the finishes but we didn`t manage to score when we were on top in the game.
"Second half when Ross County came more into it, they managed to score when they were on top and for a spell after that probably showed why they are sitting at the top of the league. We weren`t as creative in the second half probably due to Ross County getting a lift from the goal. But we managed to hang in there a little bit and in the end we were able to make some positive substitutions to try and get the equaliser.
"Unfortunately it never happened but I can`t be too critical of the boys in terms of their efforts. The second half, did we create enough? No but I thought we were excellent in the first half.
"There is not much (between the teams) in the league. We cannot get too down about it, we have a big game at the weekend. We went to Firhill at the weekend and in the first half took the game to them as well.
"There are a lot of positives with the way the boys have been because it is something that we could be criticised for since I have come into the job in that first half we have maybe not been as creative in taking games to teams so it is pleasing on that side. The sore one is that we have come away with no points.
"We do our recovery work and look forward to the Falkirk game at the weekend. Until it is mathematically impossible I am not going to say otherwise but it is going to be difficult to get a play off place.
"It is difficult to win five games on the bounce in this league like we did before is very difficult. We just need to take care of the Falkirk game and take all three points from that, then we will see where the season takes us."
How was Louis Longridge after injuring his shoulder?
"He has taken a sore one on his shoulder. John (Porteous) will have him in in the morning to see how we are with that and assess him. It is too early to know if he will be fit for the weekend. I did not see the incident and I know is that he ended up in the boards at the back and took a really sore one.
"I thought we wee excellent in the first half and good teams always know when they have been under the cosh and come out fighting. Ross County have boys who have played Premier League football and I think that showed in that spell in the second half. They showed their experience and know.
"We came through that tricky period in the second half and Matty Todd did well to cut one across the goal. Bruce tried his hardest to try and get on the end of it. Robbie Muirhead hit one from distance that troubled the keeper a little bit but the chances that we created in the first half through good play, not mistakes, if hopefully something that we can take into Saturday`s game.
"Matt Todd had one tipped over the bar, he has hit the post and James Craigen cut in from the left hand side and curls one outside the post. Bruce (Anderson) has had a couple of efforts in the first half so to come up to Ross County who are trying to go and win the league and take the game to them in the manner we did was very good. The only sore bit is we go down the road with no points."
