To be two goals up against Partick Thistle and not get a victory was a sore one to take claimed Stevie Crawford. He told his post match media interview

”I have said before, there are ways of drawing or losing games. The pleasing thing is that there was a reaction following the Ayr United game where they took a little bit of criticism. It also shows that there is a believe in there that we won`t accept coming off the pace in terms of energy levels in the Ayr game. We just weren`t at it and got punished on the night.

”The pleasing thing today coming here, was going 2-0 up and creating other chances. It was good play from Partick for the first goal, Ryan Blair couldn`t do anything about it. If we had left the ball there was somebody on the back post to score. The second one, the ball was coming in, Dan was probably comfortable and could see the ball in his line of vision. Crags has just got a tiny wee touch on to it and Danny’s natural reaction was maybe to put an arm out so it fell to the wrong man, Scott McDonald who took his goals expertly well.”

Asked if a play off place was getting too far away from Dunfermline, Stevie replied:-

”We have a hard game against Ross County on Tuesday. I watched them on the tele last night, I went up and watched them with Callum (Davidson) last Tuesday and there is talk of Ross County going to turn us over. I can see why because they are looking to go on and win the league but we still have a fighting chance to get into the play off position. It has been made harder today with the results.

”Inverness have gone down and got a really good win against Ayr United but the thing that is pressing for us as a coaching staff is the response from the Ayr United game, it shows that there are guys in there that want to go out and perform for Dunfermline.”

Stevie was pleased to hand 17 year old Matty Todd his league debut at Firhill.

”We came to Partick to try and get into the play offs. They are fighting for their lives and it wasn`t just a case of there you go Matt we will give you your debut. He has been working extremely hard over the course of the season.

”He is refreshing, we probably didn`t see the best of him today but he worked his socks off and it will let him see what men`s football is about. He will definitely sleep tonight. It will also show that the carrot is there for other young players. We brought on Lewis McCann towards the end of the game but if they are working hard and performing consistently at a level they will definitely get a chance here,”
