Dunfermline Athletic

Manager on Tuesday

Tuesday, 22nd Nov 2011

22/11/11: JM - "You've got to go there with a bit of belief that you can get a result. There's no reason why we can't if we play to our capabilities.

Jim McIntyre

Jim McIntyre is looking forward to Dunfermline's return to Celtic Park after a gap of four years:

"These games are there to be embraced, these are the games you want to play in as a player and test yourself.

"When you get promoted these are the types of games you look at the fixture list for. "You want to go there, do yourself justice and test yourselves against the best players in the country. There's nothing to fear because the expectation's all on Celtic.

"We've done well on the road. We've had our best performances on the road and hopefully we can do the same tomorrow night. It needs everybody playing at their maximum and doing the right things at the right times, making sure we're organised and disciplined and when you get your chance you put it away."

Gary Mason returns after serving a two match ban but now Austin McCann has joined the injury list

"Whether you've got injuries or a full squad, going to either half of the Old Firm's home turf is always a bit of a tough ask, but you've got to go there with a bit of belief that you can get a result. There's no reason why we can't if we play to our capabilities.

"But when you come up against the Old Firm you need a lot of luck, you need to defend well and the chances you do get you need to put them away. You need everybody at it on the day.

"I loved playing against the Old Firm and I'm sure the players in the dressing room who have already done so will be telling the ones who haven't to go and enjoy it and stand up and be counted. I've scored there a few times. I've also been on the end of a severe hammering a few times when they had a top, top side. It's always a difficult game."

Andy Dowie is described as 50-50 for the match, but Austin McCann, Nick Phinn, Martin Hardie, Craig Easton, Jason Thomson, Kevin Rutkiewicz and Steven Bell are all out.
