Manager Post Peterhead
Tuesday, 5th Aug 200805/08/08: "We made some good chances and that is something we have spoken about. When we make these we need to be more ruthless
Jim McIntyre praised his side after they came through the Co-operative Insurance Cup tie at Peterhead. He thought their attitude was excellent and that they had scored two great goals. The first of those came just 14 seconds into the second half and the Manager was pleased to see the ball in the back of the net so soon after the break.
"It settled it down.I thought we deserved maybe a couple of goals from the first half but fair play to Peterhead they were battling away.It was nice to score so early and obviously it wasn't long after that that we got the other one.It was a good professional performance."
"We made some good chances and that is something we have spoken about. When we make these we need to be more ruthless. We had good chances on Saturday and ok we were unlucky we hit the post three times.
In the main I am very pleased and the most important thing is we are creating chances and you can't score goals unless you do that"
Macca had special words for the sponsors, Co-operative Insurance Man of the Match, Nick Phinn:
"He has excellent potential. We have big expectations of Nicky because we know how good a footballer he is. It is just teaching him, coaching him the timing of his runs, when to flick it and when to hold it. He is learning all the time and he has been excellent this season so far."
The Manager lamented a slight injury to his Captain Scott Wilson:
"He has just tweaked his hamstring so we will need to assess that and see how it is in the morning."
