Keddie Clean Sheet Answer

Saturday, 19th Nov 2011

Monday mornings can feel a whole lot better when you have won a game.

Alex Keddie

Following the disclosure in midweek of just how tough times are for Dunfermline Athletic Football Club, Alex Keddie feels that the club is just like himself in needing to look after itself financially. "The pressure is all about keeping yourself in a job and keeping a clean sheet is how to do that."

The 30 year old defender is hoping that the shut out at Easter Road in the last game can be repeated at Paisley but dismissed any suggestion that St Mirren and Dunfermline might eventually be fighting it out at the foot of the league:-

"The shut out was massive for the defence because that is what you pride yourself on as defenders. You do not think about wonderful passes or anything - you think about clean sheets and defending well. There is a long way to go. This is just the second quarter of games; St Mirren are doing very well. As long as we are safe - I couldn't really care where any other teams are."

"The break came at the worst moment possible for ourselves. We did pick up a couple of injuries so for those players it might have been a good thing but three good points against Hibs away. We should have been looking forward to another game the week after but unfortunately Scotland's international took priority over the weekend.

"We had four days good training and then three days of a break. You come in a bit more positive and we are a lot happier when we play well and win. It is night and day sometimes. Monday mornings can feel a whole lot better when you have won a game."
