"Alex's and Josh's goals, they were both quality strikes and that's what can happen

After several frustrating games where Dunfermline found it tough to convert from the many opportunities that they created last Saturday's match was one where everything went right. Stephen Husband told the story:-

"We'd been having a few weeks where we weren't able to put the ball in the back of the net but luckily enough for us last week everything sort of went in.  There were a few rakers in there, like Josh's goal and Alex's goal, and they can debate whose goal was better."

Alex Whitttle's goal hit the net on the half hour but within ten minutes both Andy Geggan and Josh Falkingham had followed suit. Hubby thought that Andy's was possibly the topper:-

"They've scored two great goals but I thought Andy Geggan's goal was probably the best because we spread the ball about and we kept passing it.

"Sometimes teams sit in against us and it was a good display of us breaking a team down. A lot of teams are sitting in against us at home and getting behind the ball well, so it means sometimes you can't walk the ball into the net. We're not Barcelona so we've got to have a go. You see Alex's and Josh's goals, they were both quality strikes and that's what can happen. The two goals coming in quick succession can deflate a team and it probably was enough to give us the win"

Stephen scored at Forfar when the Pars visited Station Park in May. That goal six minutes from the end of the first leg of the play off semi final was a great fillip to take to East End for the return:-

"That was the last game we played up there and it was a free-kick again. It probably gave us a bit of a lift coming back for the home leg. I felt 3-0 was a tough one and obviously when we lost to Alloa in the play-off final it was hard to get back in the game, but 3-1 meant we were still in it and gave them it all to do.

"We've just got to go up there and if we play the way we've been playing I'm sure we'll do well. The team is in good spirits and we're enjoying our football just now."

Stephen who will be 23 later this month and his predominantly younger team mates have not required reminding that the old cliche applies to taking the A90 to Forfar:-

"It is not an easy place to go and you even saw Rangers a couple of weeks ago. I watched that game on TV and they struggled a bit up there. So we know it's not going to be easy but we know we've got to go up there twice a season and just try to take as much points as we can. Hopefully we'll get the right result."
