The Board of Directors have explored along with the manager and his staff, all the possible reasons for such a significant slump in form.

Dunfermline Athletic Football Club

The last few weeks have been extremely disappointing for all concerned at DAFC and the Board of Directors have explored along with the manager and his staff, all the possible reasons for such a significant slump in form. A current injury list of no fewer than twelve players including two goalkeepers has had a significant impact, however the available players on a match day have performed below expectation and the Manager and the playing squad are examining how this situation can be swiftly rectified. The Board of Directors are assisting Stephen Kenny by trying to bring in players on loan until the injury crisis subsides. In the meantime everyone associated with the Club is under no illusions that the current slump in form cannot be allowed to continue and there requires to be an immediate improvement in results.

It is disappointing that the current performance is over-shadowing a number of positive developments at the Club with a huge emphasis being made on Youth Development with new co-ordinators being brought in and 21 part-time coaches being employed to ensure that the Club continues to enjoy the coveted SFA Youth Initiative Performance Club Award and therefore generates exciting new players for the future.

In addition to the re-focus on Youth, DAFC have built upon their ever-expanding Community programme. DAFC Community now operate as part of the Pars Trust (a registered charity set up several years ago by DAFC Board members to promote sport for all across Dunfermline and surrounding areas) DAFC Community have two full time Community coaches and several part time coaches reaching more than 500 primary school kids every week!

DAFC Executive made the strategic decision some years ago that as a Club they would develop interaction with local kids at the earliest possible age and began its fun Mini-Kickers football programme, through DAFC Community Coaches from age 3 onwards!! And as Community Coach, Roger Arnott also coaches DAFC Under 10's to give DAFC a first insight into any budding local talent!

As a Club we donate 1000+ tickets to schools/local organisations 5 times a year and run Kids for a Quid matches ( next on 22nd and 29th December) to develop support for the team amongst local youngsters.

The Directors and football management staff are calling on all supporters to get behind the team and help us secure vital points over the coming weeks to ensure that we are challenging for promotion to the SPL come May.
