Concentration on Cowden

Andy Geggan: "We have to put what's going to happen on Tuesday at the back of our minds and take care of the game on Saturday."

For the first competitive match of the season versus Cowdenbeath, Andy Geggan hopes to have recovered from the dead leg sustained just twenty minutes into the friendly last Saturday against Falkirk. He told the website that he and his teammates are looking forward to what might be the only local derby of the season against their nearest neighbours:-

"We have to put what's going to happen on Tuesday at the back of our minds and take care of the game on Saturday."

On the park all the preparations have been going well although Andy did claim that although different under Neil McCann's leadership the routine had still been a tough one because of the competitiveness of his newer teammates:-

"Pre season training has been harder because all the young lads are fitter than experienced ones would have been. We have done all the running and it is all about games now."

Hearts, Falkirk and Dundee United provided good tests and the more experienced players share the Manager's assessment that the young boys who have come on have done their prospects of making the first team pool no harm whatsoever:-

"There are a few who have done really well and although it is unfair to single anyone out, Lewis Spence, Ryan Williamson and Lewis Martin have all stood out for me. They are something to look forward to because these young boys could definitely make the step up.

"It is going to be different this season because I am one of the older ones and I feel that I have to take care of the younger ones. I just hope that the CVA gets agreed on Tuesday, our fingers are crossed."

All being well Andy will be able to pass on his experience of the lower league grounds, none of which this season will be new to him. He agreed with the description that the fans have tagged them - an adventure - but for other reasons:-

"Some of these grounds are crazy, it will all be very different. At home we cannot expect too many away fans but I just hope the home fans turn out to support the team because that can be a real boost."
