David Cook Appointed as CEO

DAFC are delighted to formally announce the appointment of David Cook as our new Chief Executive Officer.

David was formerly Chief Commercial Officer at Nottingham Forest FC, where he held that post for nearly five years. Immediately prior to that he held a number of roles including: Senior Sponsorship Manager at Etihad Airways; Business Development Manager at Celtic FC; and International Business Development Manager at Everton FC.

David has also obtained an MBA specialising in football industries at the University of Liverpool.

As well as being enthusiastic and driven, he is extremely well connected and will bring a fresh and innovative approach.

David will have a wide-ranging remit and will ultimately manage our football club on a day-to-day basis, but he will also possess a key strategic role on the DAFC Board.

A very happy David commented “I am honoured and delighted to be joining the club as CEO and I would like to express my thanks to the board of directors – both here in Dunfermline and in Germany - for giving me this opportunity.

“There’s a lot of hard work ahead but I am excited by the potential that we have. We are a proud community football club and I strongly believe that with all stakeholders working together and pulling in the same direction we can grow the club both on and off the field.”

Chairman, Ross McArthur was also delighted and stated “for me, David’s appointment represents a significant milestone in our club’s journey back from the dark days of administration. First and foremost, he is a highly experienced and commercially focussed sports business executive, with an impressive track record, not only at other football clubs but in other industries too.

“We are extremely fortunate to recruit a football professional like David, as he was at the stage of his career where he wanted the challenge of a wider CEO role, and for family reasons he was keen to return to West Fife. David also happens to be a life-long Pars fan, so he already has a very good understanding of our club, the local community and the expectation of our fan base.

Undoubtedly, his energy, innovation and expertise will help move our club further forward as we bring together all of the very exciting infrastructure projects that are underway. His appointment was only made possible by the support of our investors, DAFC Fussball GmbH, and it is important for me to acknowledge this once again.

David will sit on the DAFC Board, and to facilitate this within our existing governance structure, Damir Keretic has kindly agreed to stand down as a director of DAFC, but he will still have an active involvement within DAFC Fussball GmbH.

I look forward to working with David over the next few months, and I am sure all Pars fans will give him their full support.”
