Lochhead signs new deal
Wednesday, 24th May 201720-year-old, Scott Lochhead has today signed a new one-year deal with the club.
The attacking midfielder, formerly a youth player with Rangers for six years, before moving across the Old Firm divide to sign for Celtic as a youth in 2012. He went on to represent the Parkhead club at SPFL Under 20 before joining Dundee United in 2014.
Scott was subsequently released by United, joining Dunfermline Athletic in July 2016. He spent the latter part of the 2016/2017 season on Development loan at League Two side, Clyde.
A close season gym session at East End Park was interrupted to put pen to paper and Scott told the website:-
"I am hoping to push for a place in the first team and want to impress the manager in pre season. I will do my best to stake a claim and get as many minutes on the clock as I can. Hopefully I have something that he is looking for in the team."
Scott`s loan at Clyde did not start in the best of ways after the manager Barry Ferguson leaving and a knee injury keeping him out initially. Thankfully he felt that Allan Johnston had seen enough of him in the period before the loan to have faith in signing the player who was brought up in Stepps.
"My own manager probably saw enough of me in the six months before that and in the games I played while I wasn`t playing for Clyde.
"The close season sessions are optional but we are in again on Monday and Wednesday before I go away on holiday. After that I will be back on 9th June before we start back on the 15th."
