Keeper`s perfect end to season
Monday, 8th May 2017Sean Murdoch:- "Sometimes you play really well and don`t get the win, so we will take this one."
Sean Murdoch felt that Saturday`s match was the perfect end to his season:-
"I had some good saves, a clean sheet and an assist. I am absolutely delighted, we finished the season strongly and just fell short of the play offs. The manager has made it clear that is his aim for next season."
Allan Johnston is on record of saying that he is on the look out for
`more quality` and Sean felt that would make a difference next season. He continued:-
"Over 90 minutes and on our day we are as good as anyone in this league. There are some teams who have a wee bit more quality than us, especially Hibs, they were a class above everyone else.
"In Dundee United and Falkirk there is not a lot between us. We have got a pretty good team. Whether the manager wants to release some boys, bring some boys in that is his call and why he is the manager. I am more than happy with the lads we have just now to push for promotion next season."
Sean pointed out the twelve drawn games this season as the problem:-
"More wins and less draws is what is required. Some games we were drawing and others where we got beat. We have to take the good and bad and make a good start to the season as well."
A fans favourite, Sean is also very appreciative of the lengths they go to supporting their team:-
"The fans have been tremendous and I know that it is an old cliche to say thank you to the fans and say that they are a great support but they are. Even at away games they come out in their numbers, support us really well by getting behind us,
"Hopefully they all come next season, buy their season ticket books and go to away games. We definitely need them. To hear them on Saturday, they definitely gave that push to get a result."
That result was not achieved until the first minute of added time at the end of the match and Sean admitted that the Pars had been put under the cosh by Queen of the South:-
"They were very good, they must feel unfortunate. You take the win, sometimes you play really well and don`t get the win, so we will take this one."
