Allan Johnston was delighted that his side eventually came up with two goals to win the Championship match at Dumbarton on Saturday. He told the media:-
"I thought the first half was really difficult, you could see how the wind was causing problems for both teams. It was really difficult to play in, to get the ball down and even get the ball out of our own half. The keeper was kicking it out and it was coming back.
"We restricted them to a few shots from distance but it was always hard playing against the wind.
"In the second half, we came more into it. The wind started to die down a wee bit and obviously it was great for Rhys McCabe to open the scoring. It was a really good finish, he has got that, we see it every day in training so it was good to see it in a game.
"The second goal was a really good finish from a good move. It was a really good striker`s finish from Hoppy. He has had a frustrating season so far, he has had a lot of injuries so it is great to see him get a goal. Hopefully he goes on and gets a big lift from that."
It seemed like the goals would never come and given that there were ten Dunfermline corners in the first half disappointing not to score from one.
"We had a couple of chances from the corners in the first half. It looked like one of our biggest threats. Nat (Wedderburn) had one cleared off the line and Callum Morris had a header as well. There were a couple of chances but I don`t think we created a lot of chances. Certainly second half was a lot better."
