For a team that has possibly drawn too many matches this season, Allan Johnston felt that nevertheless a draw with the league leaders was a fair result.
"Hibs were probably slightly better in the first half and we were slightly better in the second half. I think that is a fair assessment.
"I think we`re deservedly got a goal back, it was a pretty even game all round and there were a lot of good performances. I thought the whole back four defended really well for us but I thought Jason Talbot was outstanding."
It took a 59th minute penalty for the Pars to get an equaliser and the decision to award the spot kick was hotly disputed by Hibs boss Neil Lennon. The Dunfermline manager commented on the decision:-
"It looked as though the boy (Lewis Stevenson) had his hand above us head. That is why penalties are given (when the ball hits), you cannot put your hands up there. You can see why the referee has given it.
"We can always complain about their goal as well. Maybe we should have closed it down a bit quicker. It was a great strike from McMinn but the players showed unbelievable character to come back against the team that is top of the league.
"We have shown that numerous times recently and showed the quality that they have got to get back into the game."
The reaction after going behind after just twelve minutes was a good one.
"We could quite easily have got the heads down but I think we deservedly got something out of the game. There are a lot of important games coming up and we just have to focus on ourselves and make sure that we get the points to catch the teams up above us."
The capital side had several good chances early in the second half and it proved important that a second goal was prevented.
"Moffat had a great chance as well but it was pretty even. I cannot really say that Hibs did enough to win the game and we never did enough to win the game. it is a good point."
