Allan Johnston felt that his team made it difficult for themselves.
"We lost two goals early on and by being quite sloppy we could have lost a couple more at that stage. But we showed a lot of character to come back and a lot of quality as well.
"I thought we created loads of chances in the second half and we are coming away a wee bit unfortunate not to get the win."
Hibs keeper Ofir Marciano made crucial saves with his legs to deny Dunfermline a winner.
"They were great saves, I don`t think that we could have done much more. We are disappointed to concede the goals, I don`t know if it was a penalty it looked a wee bit soft at the time but the boys reacted really well.
"We came back into the game, I thought we passed the ball really well at times in wee triangles and caused them problems. A point is a good result here and we are disappointed not to get the three."
The match had not started well for the Fifers losing a goal in just the sixth minute but the start of the second half was the exact opposite when Kallum Higginbotham found the net after just 27 seconds. What had been said at half time?
"We just pointed out where we were going wrong and individually what we could improve on. We got the reaction we were looking for and hopefully now we can build on that because we have a lot of massive games coming up between now and the end of the season. It is important that we build up momentum and try and catch the teams up above us."
This is the first point that Dunfermline has taken from the three fixtures against Hibs this season and AJ pointed out that the games have all been close affairs:-
"It shows that we are moving in the right direction when you come here and you are unlucky not to win because with the quality that Hibs have got, it was always going to be a close game, especially after the confidence they got from Wednesday night."
Did it concern the Pars boss that his team missed as many chances in the second half?
"No, it is always good when you create chances, especially against a top team. In the last couple of games you could possibly say that we have not been as clinical as we should have been but today their keeper was outstanding and sometimes you have to hold your hand up and say that he did really well. If we keep playing like that I`m sure that we will score a lot of goals."
The Pars manager agreed that his wide players, Paul McMullan and Kallum Higginbotham were terrific:-
"They have that in their locker. You cannot beat players who can go past people with a bit of pace and a wee bit of creativity. That is what the fans want to see. They certainly produced that at times today. I thought Nicky Clark and Michael Moffat were very good as well.
"Individually I thought we were very good but as a team, I thought after the first twenty minutes, we defended well and obviously going forward we looked a real threat."
Was the manager concerned when on a yellow card, Kallum Higginbotham got involved in further incidents?
"Kallum is not a silly boy. He knew himself that he had to watch what he was doing. He wasn`t going to get involved. He is one of those players who is always plays on the edge. He is an intelligent lad and experienced so I am sure that he was not going to get caught out by giving away daft free kicks and getting sent off."
