AJ - "We have let them out of jail"

Allan Johnston felt aggrieved that his side were disallowed a first half goal when they had succeeded in putting the ball in the Hamilton net. He told the media:-

"He gave a foul when the corner came in and Callum Morris headed the ball in the net. It was very soft so we were disappointed not to get that one.

"Second half we had great opportunities, Paul McMullan was through one v one. Michael Moffat had a great opportunity and Kallum Higginbotham had a great opportunity and against Premiership teams you have got to take your chances.

"We are disappointed not to get the win but it shows the level that we can play at and I am sure that the boys will take a lot of confidence from that."

Paul McMullan has now scored in every round so far in the season`s Scottish Cup but his manager felt that he should have scored more:-

"He scored the first one, he ran inside, it was a great touch and was one on one with the goal and the first one he obviously finished it off. He played really well today, there were a lot of good energy levels. We just have to make sure that it is the same again on Tuesday."

Asked if he had seen any replays of the Callum Morris `goal` the Pars manager revealed that he had reviewed it and that had formed his opinion:-

"It was very soft, the block by Michael Moffat on the keeper was very very minimal. It was a good header so it is one of those, sometimes you get them sometimes you don`t. There were a lot of positives there.

"Second half, well even first half I thought we were the better team but we have to take the opportunities when they are there. It builds confidence but at the end of the day it is about getting through to the next round. We have let them out of jail so we have to make sure that we finish what we did today on Tuesday with another good performance to get the win. I am sure that they will be fired up so we will have to be at our very best."

Following the cup tie AJ has a few injury doubts for the replay that will be on Tuesday night at New Douglas Park.

Andy Geggan caught his foot in the turf and had to be helped off before half time. His manager d scribed the incident as a block that looked like a sore one and predicted his captain might be missing for a couple of weeks.

"That`s why you have a squad, I`m sure somebody will step in."

Allan was pleased that his side bounced back from the defeat at Falkirk that he termed one of their most disappointing performances:-

"We showed a lot better today, we passed the ball better, created chances and we should have come away with a win."
