Margaret Ross Memorial Fund
Wednesday, 1st Feb 2017Following the sudden and untimely death of Pars Supporters’ Trust Chair and DAFC Director, Margaret Ross, the PST are pleased to announce the launch of the Margaret Ross Memorial Fund as a lasting tribute to their friend and colleague.
The PST aim to make a yearly contribution to individuals or projects within the Under 20 or youth team set up at East End Park.
PST Interim Chair Drew Main said “whilst Margaret immersed herself in so many groups and projects within the Pars family, she always had a soft spot for the welfare of our U20 players or youngsters who are making their way through the youth system. Our intention is to ring fence money from a couple of fund raising events throughout the year specifically for the Memorial Fund which we will then use for the benefit of our younger players, the idea being that we can provide funds in this way on an annual basis in Margaret’s memory”.
DAFC Chairman Ross McArthur reiterated “this is a fantastic way for Margaret’s memory to be preserved within the Pars Family. As Drew highlights, Margaret was always thinking about the younger players at our club and making sure they had every opportunity to achieve their goals. I am sure she would be proud of her PST colleagues continuing to ensure the younger players at our club are looked after”.
The first such fund raising event which will contribute to the Memorial Fund is the PST Curry Night at Royal Bengal Indian restaurant on 7th February. The event is already sold out and the PST is hoping to get the Margaret Ross Memorial Fund off to a bumper start.
