Allan Johnston felt that his team made it difficult for themselves towards the end of the cup tie:-
"I thought we were on top and should probably have scored more goals. We made a mistake a the very end there to make the scoreline a bit tighter than the games suggests.
"We thought thatwe deserved to progress to the end round, we were the better team. We passed the ball well, we defended well for the majority of the game. Obviously them getting the goal gives them a big massive lift.
"We weathered the storm for five or ten minutes and then looked in control again. We should probably have taken a couple of chances on the counterattack but they never took them. Then we made a mistake at the end to give them a consolation goal."
The manager was pleased with goals in 12th and 43rd minutes:-
"They were really good goals, I thought it was a really good team performance - really professional. It is hard coming to places like this. They pass the ball well, they have a lot of good players and you are expected to win. You are expected to win and it is one that can be really difficult.
"I thought the boys did really well, their attitude was first class, we competed well, we passed the ball well and it is good to get the win and be in the next round."
Kallum Higginbotham was substituted by Joe Cardle for the second half, was that because he was on a yellow card.
"He has played the majority of games this season. He was on a yellow card and we were winning 2-0 so the sensible decision was to take him off."
Kallum and Steven Hetherington were both shown yellow cards for a tenth minute incident. Do you think he was lucky just to see yellow?
"I thought he was unlucky to get a yellow to be honest with you. There wasn`t much in it, I don`t think he deserved to get a yellow card, it looked as though he got caught with the challenge in the first place. So he was a wee bit unfortunate. Higgy is a big player for us, I thought he gave us another good performance in the first half.
"You can see the quality that we have on the bench when guys like Joe Cardle can come on and the impact he made. It was a fantastic finish for his goal."
Callum Morris made his second Dunfermline debut at Alloa almost four and a half years since first turning out in a Pars strip against Montrose in the League Cup. The manager was full of praise for his most recent signing:-
"He was very good, he looks as though he will be a big asset for the club. He was really comfortable, he won a lot of the aerial challenges, he passed the ball well and you could see the pace that he has got. I am sure that he will do really well over the course of the season."
