The William Hill Scottish Cup Fourth Round draw sends the Pars to the Indodrill Stadium on Saturday to face Alloa Athletic. The home side sit second in League One and have not played the Pars since the First Division Play Offs on 2013. Alloa won the first leg 3-0 giving Jim Jefferies side too much to do at East End Park in the return. The 1-0 victory was not enough to save the Pars from relegation.
It is 56 years since the sides were last drawn together in the Scottish Cup. They have been drawn against each other five times and its 3-2 on the Pars progress with one tie being drawn. .Two of the ties were in Victorian times, Alloa winning 8-4 at East End Park in 1886 and losing 1-0 to the Pars the following season.
Then in 1938-39 season Alloa progressed after a 1-1 draw in Dunfermline and a 3-2 home win. The Pars won the last two cup meetings, 2-0 away in 1958 and 4-0 at home in 1961 en route to their first ever Scottish Cup win.
