Callum Morris signs for DAFC
Saturday, 31st Dec 2016Dunfermline Athletic are delighted to sign defender, Callum Morris until the end of the 2016-17 season following his release from Aberdeen.
Morris started his career as a youth player at Newcastle United before signing for The Pars in August 2012 after a successful trial. He made his debut for the club in a 3–1 win against Raith Rovers and went on to be a first team regular.
During season 2013/2014, Callum helped Dunfermline Athletic to finish second in League One, qualifying for the Championship play-offs and then winning against Stranraer on aggregate. The club remained in League One however after losing 4–1 on aggregate to Cowdenbeath in the play-off final, in which Morris made his final appearance for the club before leaving for Dundee United in June 2014.
The 26-year-old played 38 games for the Arabs before signing a one-year deal with Scottish Premiership side, Aberdeen in June 2016.
Chairman Ross McArthur said: "We`re obviously delighted to sign Callum and bring him back to the Football Club. He is a player we all know very well and recognise the quality he possesses".
The defender puts pen to paper on a deal until the end of the current season. Further reaction will follow once Callum meets up with his new teammates on the 9th January.
