Concentrate on ourselves claims Clark
Monday, 21st Nov 2016"We have to look up the table at the teams above us.
Nicky Clark scored his fifth Dunfermline goal against St Mirren on Saturday night and it turned out to be the most important so far in his twelve match Pars career. He told the media:-
"The three points are massive for us. I thought Sean Murdoch and the back four were tremendous for us. They dealt with a lot of cross balls and to a man they were brilliant.
"You want to score as many goals as possible and I maybe should have had another couple at the end there. We got the important one and so we will take the 1-0 win and get up the road."
The manager said in his post match comments that the big players had to step up in these kind of games and the 25 year striker had to consider himself one of those referred to:-
"We have a lot of big players in the dressing room, a lot of players who have played at a higher level and at big clubs. It is important that they step up and on Saturday night I think everyone of us did that.
"As well as the back four I thought John Herron was all over the park. We knew it was a massive night for us, we had to get the three points. We fought well and we got them."
Asked if the result was significant in the battle to avoid relegation, Nicky dismissed such an idea:-
"We don`t look at it like that at all. As I have said before we have a great ability in that dressing room but we know that we have not been good enough in previous games. Saturday was big for us, we got the three points and I`m sure that we will kick on from there and push up the league.
"We have to look up the table at the teams above us. St Mirren are a good team and we know that they will win games as well. We will just concentrate on our own, hopefully we can drag the teams above towards us in the next few weeks."
