Allan Johnston was pleased that his side created lots of chances and felt that Raith Rovers "hung in" for a draw.
"They made it really difficult but we defended well at times as well. We were solid and a couple of chances that they had were from our mistakes. Other than that for long periods we defended really well.
"I thought Andy Geggan at right back was one of our best players, I thought he was outstanding. Kallum Higginbotham probably had one of his best games as well.
"The front two are always a threat upfront. I am delighted for the boys, they worked incredibly hard. We deserved the three points as we did last week but it gives us a platform to build on."
Even having earned a point the Pars drop a place in the Championship as a result of Dumbarton`s win at St Mirren. The manager added:-
"There is a long way to go and if you play like that and show that desire and work rate then you are not going to be far away. You could see that the boys gave everything and you could see the fans reaction at the end - I think they appreciated the effort that they put in, we were just disappointed that we did not get the three points."
The best chance of breaking the deadlock was created by Higginbotham just before the hour mark. Iain Davidson pulled off a remarkable clearance right under his own crossbar:-
"I don`t know how he managed to keep it out, it looked a certain goal. He was running towards his own goal and it looked as though when he was clearing it he was going to put it in his own net, if he was going to clear it at all. I don`t know how he managed to put it past the post.
"That probably just sums up our luck just now but if we keep working like that we will definitely turn the corner."
John Herron returned to the first team after missing for four weeks and his significant contribution was recognised:-
"He has missed a lot. He is a naturally fit boy but you can see that he is a fit boy with quality. He is obviously going to get better and better the fitter he gets. I thought there were a lot of good performances in there. I thought Nat (Wedderburn) had one of his best games as well.
"Farid was unlucky in the first half not to get on the pass from Joe Cardle. There was a lot of quality play and if they keep playing like that, working as hard as that then the results will definitely turn round.
"Sean Murdoch kept them out but mainly from our mistakes. That is what the keeper is there for but I am delighted for him to get a clean sheet because the defence always get a bit of stick for losing goals. It was a real team performance today, I thought they gave everything.
"We always create chances with the players that we have, the wide players we have got, the strikers we have got so it is important that at the other end you work hard as a team to try and keep clean sheets. It gives you something to build on.
"As I said before if we keep passing the ball the way we did today, with the strikers we have got then we will always score goals and hopefully win a lot more games."
