Allan Johnston felt that his team was the team on top in the first half:-
"We restricted Hibs to very few chances. It looked as though we were the team on. We looked compact, we looked good on the break so it is so frustrating to put in a second half performance like we did.
"Obviously it is goals that change it. The first Hibs goal gave them a massive lift and it was a deflection that was going maybe ten or fifteen yards wide. It took a deflection off our defender (Lee Ashcroft) and went in the net.
"If you look at the first half performance, we were different class, a lot more compact, good on the break with pace about us. We were winning challenges in the middle of the park but compare that to the second half where they had too much time. We stopped doing what we were doing first half which was frustrating.
In the 94th minute Dunfermline were reduced to ten men when Michael Moffat was shown a red card. (As far as can be seen his first ever red) Unsurprisingly his manager felt that it was a harsh decision:-
"I am disappointed, it was never a sending off. I think we have to look at that, he hardly caught him and it was not even a bad tackle. I think the referee has just reacted to the players coming together. Michael has not done anything, we have to look at that - it was never a sending off.
"Farid was different class first half, you could see that he was struggling a bit with his calf second half and that changed the way we played a wee bit. We were getting a lot of joy from Farid, he was holding the ball in and winning headers. He caused them loads of problems first half whereas second half you could see that he was struggling. Hopefully he will be fit for the weekend."
Did the manager have any argument about the penalty given against Dunfermline?
"The penalty was just a mistake. He (Lee Ashcroft) misjudged it but those are the ones that kill you. You cannot afford to make mistakes like that at this level. We should be totally in control of the ball, it was just a launch up the park and we just have to clear the danger.
"Obviously that happens. We just have to pick ourselves up and make sure that we don`t keep making mistakes like that."
Responding to suggestion that the Hibs goals were in the avoidable category AJ said:-
"It has been like that for the majority of the season so far. We are getting punished for making basic individual errors. You can see that there were a lot of positives to take out of the first half but we need to play like that for 90 minutes. It is as simple as that, you can`t afford to come out in the second half and let teams like Hibs, with the quality that they got, have so much time and space."
