Allan Johnston thought that his team started the Derby match really well and felt, until the first goal that Dunfermline were the team on top.
"We got punished and it was a really poor goal to lose. It was just one ball over the top and we did not match the run. It was a good finish from the boy (Craig Sibbald) but it gave Falkirk a big lift getting the goal.
"Up until that point I felt that we were in control and had a couple of half chances. We looked the team that was to go on and score.
"Second half we were chasing the game again. A long diagonal pass that was played inside and we didn`t match the run but it was a great finish from Myles Hippoltye. He hit is really well from the edge of the box.
"From our point of view it was a poor goal to lose as well. So two poor goals but we got ourself back in the game with a great bit of composure from Farid (El Alagui)who I thought did really well today.
"He caused them a few problems but we are shooting ourselves in the foot a bit. We are putting ourselves under pressure having to chase games just because we are losing don`t goals. That is what we need to tighten up on.
"That is why Falkirk are a top four team because they don`t lose soft goals but that is what we have to learn."
Dunfermline finished strongly pushing for an equaliser and it was Falkirk who were more desperate to hear the final whistle.
"It is disappointing. We have got good players but we need to learn to defend better as a team first and foremost and stop giving away soft goals. It puts you under pressure and you need to chase and be a bit gun-ho.
"We said to them at half time that we need to stay in the game because with the players we have, we will always score goals. We have good players going forward who can cause any teams problems on their day.
"We knew the goals would come but we had to be organised and not lose any soft goals. It is frustrating to lose a goal out of nothing. It was a long diagonal pass where we just switched off and didn`t match the runner. These are the wee things that we need to learn.
"There are positives there as well. Obviously we competed for long spells against Falkirk who are a well established Championship team but we need to pick up results as well."
The manager was well aware that having now played every team in the league once that the final quarter has ended with just seven points.
"We are miles better than that, we need to give ourselves a chance. You cannot afford to lose cheap goals so that is what we need to work on. Over the piece the majority of the games have been really tight. I don`t think anybody has battered us. We have been involved in the majority of the games and we just need to find that system or that we not of confidence to go on and win these games."
AJ felt that there not a lot of difference between League One and the Championship.
"I think the teams are very similar, there is not much of a gap. It is that moment of switching off and quality can hurt you at any time."
The manager confirmed that Joe Cardle missed out on the game with a knee injury that has been getting worse and worse.
