Manager`s reaction to cup draw
Monday, 10th Oct 201610/10/16: "It is the quarter final of a cup competition and I am sure that there will be a massive crowd to cheer us on
Allan Johnston gave his reaction to the draw for the next round of the Irn-Bru Cup which means that the away league game is swapped to a home cup tie against the same opposition, Dundee United. He commented:-
"I don`t think we could have got a much tougher draw but at the end of the day if you want to go on and win things, you are going to have to beat teams like Dundee United.
"It is the quarter final of a cup competition and I am sure that there will be a massive crowd to cheer us on from both sets of fans. It is an occasion that I am sure everyone will be looking forward to."
The return of Dundee United is a chance to bury the bad memories from the league match in September when the Pars famously missed three penalties. It is not a match that Allan Johnston still doesn`t like to think about. He continued:-
"It is good to get a home draw because it makes a big difference and we are hoping to get a result this time. I think we were a wee bit unlucky against them, especially last game.
"We played really well in the last game. They are a quality team but so are we. It should be a really good cup tie and hopefully we are the ones who get through to the next round."
