Nicky net seeking success continues
Monday, 26th Sep 2016Clark keen to bury the English experience by scoring plenty for Dunfermline.
Nicky Clark admitted that the Saturday evening match was great viewing for the neutral but the win was a relief to him and his team mates. Happy to be on the scoresheet for the second game running he said:-
"We probably made it a bit hard for ourselves at times but we will take the three points. Obviously strikers want to be scoring goals and as many as possible. It was good to get back on track last week and score another two on Saturday night but the most important thing is the three points."
Both Nicky`s goals came from tremendous service firstly from Jason Talbot and then from Michael Paton for the second:-
"It was a great ball from Jason and it was a decent finish. We gave away slack goals, their third goal was a great finish from Ryan Hardie - I have seen him do that at Rangers loads of times in training. He has got that in his locker."
The 25 year old who spent two years at Queen of the South before the three at Rangers has experience of the Championship but is pleased to be back in Scotland after a couple of months in England at Bury where things didn`t work out the way he had planned it.
"I played in the Championship with Rangers for the last two years and back here now I just want to concentrate on my football, do well at Dunfermline and get the team up the league."
Nicky hopes to bring a bit of experience to Dunfermline and help the younger boys coming through.
"I want to score as many goals as possible and get my name back out there. I worked with my dad at Queen of the South and that went very well for us - me personally and the team. If we can get anything like that here I am sure that it will be a successful season."
The striker scored 38 goals for Allan Johnston and Sandy Clark at Queen of the South in season 2012-2013. He also has been re-united with Gavin Reilly and Michael Paton who played with him during that very successful season at Palmerston but he claims that he knows the Dunfermline team well from having watched them from the sidelines last season.
"I got to know a few of the boys, it has been easy for me to settle in and I feel comfortable here. We have a great dressing room and there is a lot of talent in it.
"We shot ourselves in the foot a few times on Saturday and in previous games and made it difficult for ourselves. We showed great character to get back and the three points are massive for us."
