Allan Johnston was disappointed to have to leave Cappielow pointless. He told the media:-
"We need to be better than that. Without being disrespectful we need to come to places like Morton and win. I don`t think we did enough today.
"Their front two caused us a lot of problems, I thought they were very good but we have to deal with that better.
"It is a team thing, it is not individuals. I don`t think we can blame individuals, we need to do better as a team. We need to work even harder and sometimes when results aren`t going your way you just have to work even harder - get your head down and make sure that everybody pulls together to turn the corner.
"That is not good enough, we are better than that but you get what you deserve sometimes. We need to do more, we need to work harder as a backroom staff, work harder as players because it is only us who can get us out of this position that we are in."
Did the manager feel that a draw might have been a fairer result, he agreed:-
"I think they had three shots and scored from two. That kind of sums up our last few games, we are getting punished for everything just now but there are no excuses. We are miles better than that, we never played as well as what we could do.
"We have to move on quickly, it means another massive game again next week and we have to make sure that we are ready for it."
Substitutions came as early as the ninth minute of the second half but the introduction of Joe Cardle, Kallum Higginbotham and latterly Farid El Alagui did not lead to another Pars goal:-
"You could see the game was really nervy. Both sets of players looked like a team that was in need of a result. You could tell by the nervousness about and if you had won a couple of games you`d be relaxed and pass it.
"It was was always going to be the one who got the next goal that was going to be the winner. There weren`t many opportunities for either side."
