Morrison plays for Scotland
Thursday, 8th Sep 2016Dunfermline Athletic youth player, Stuart Morrison has returned from international training camp in Greece.
Stuart Morrison has returned from training with the Scotland Under 19s in Greece. Speaking exclusively to this website the 17 year old said:-
"It was really good, I really enjoyed myself and good experience being in a national set up with kitmen, sports scientist and lots of different coaches. You got everything done for you."
Totally different from being a youth player at club level agreed Stuart.
"It was a different style that they wanted us to play in the games. Training was different and I enjoyed it."
Greece were the opponents in the two friendlies played. Stuart did not play in the first match on the Saturday but played the 90 minutes of the 1-0 win on the Monday.
"There were two separate teams basically but by the end of the second game, it was mostly the team that played in the first game. It was good to be part of what seemed to be the strongest team on the pitch.
"It was hot and I was struggling to get my breath by the end of the game. The coaches were happy with how I played and we kept a clean sheet so I must have done things right.
"I just played my usual game that I do here in the 20s. Hopefully I did well enough to be considered for the next squad."
The next get together for the Scotland U19s will be a double header in Scotland against Sweden.
"Even if I do not get selected I can always say to my friends that I played for Scotland."
