Manager on New Signings
Thursday, 1st Sep 2016Manager, Allan Johnston was delighted with the business done by the club before the end of the transfer window.
First signing yesterday was former Bury striker, Nicky Clark: “Delighted to sign Nicky first of all, he’s a top quality player who i’ve worked with previously at Queen of the South. He can score goals, has good movement and will bring more experience to the squad.
He’s a player we have been working on bringing in for a while, we’re delighted to get a player of Nicky’s quality in. There was a lot of Premier League clubs and teams in England interested in him, so for him to come to us, it’s a major boost.
Today was Nicky’s first day at the club after watching the Fife Cup semi-final at Starks Park last night: “He has settled in already, he knows how big a club it is after attending some games last season so he was really keen to come.
The club also signed midfielder, John Herron on-loan from Blackpool until January.
Allan said: “It came about last minute, I heard a lot of good reports about him. Blackpool were keen for him to get some games, so it’s the perfect opportunity for both parties.
He is an attacking midfielder who can score goals, he was playing for Blackpool’s first team a couple of weeks ago and scored against Bolton, he spent a lot of time at Celtic as a youngster and has played for Scotland all the way through the different age groups. He is another quality addition to our squad.”
Allan was also asked on the situation regarding trialist Farid el Alagui: “He played the other night in the Fife Cup against Raith Rovers and scored. We still have room to bring in one more so it’s a definite possibility.
