Preview Cowdenbeath
Saturday, 23rd Jul 2016Betfred League Cup: Saturday 23rd July 2016. Kick off 3.00pm at Central Park.
Admission £12 and £5
Cowdenbeath met Dunfermline five times last season but following the Blue
Brazil`s relegation and the Pars promotion this Saturday`s Betfred Cup tie might
be their only meeting of the season.
Last season the teams met in the Scottish League Cup First Round and after a
goalless first half, two goals from Faissal El Bakhtaoui, two from Shaun Byrne,
and a penalty from Ryan Wallace cancelled out a 59th minute strike from Declan
Hughes for a 5-1win.
That match was the first time that they had met in this cup since September 2003 when goals from Stevie Crawford and Craig Brewster secured a
2-0
victory and a tie against St Johnstone. The previous season the teams also
met in the League Cup, Dunfermline winning through 2-1 at Central Park.
