Evan Horne gets another year
Wednesday, 4th May 2016The football we are playing is positive so hopefully we can kick on and do better next year.
Evan Horne joined Dunfermline on a short term deal in January this year and he was delighted to accept a new one year deal. The former Dundee United youth has enjoyed his time at Dunfermline especially since he has had regular games in the under 20s. He told the website:-
"I have been developing, enjoying training and just enjoying every minute of it. I have played all the under 20s games except the Celtic one.
"Everything at the club has been a high standard. Coming from a bigger club you expect a wee dip. Training and off the park is good and obviously the first team set the high standard on the pitch which makes it hard to break through.
"The 20s results didn't really go our way but it is a young squad compared to a lot of other teams. The football we are playing is positive so hopefully we can kick on and do better next year.
"The fans will just read the scores and think we got beat again but if you were at the game you will see that we are playing good football. We have been unlucky in most games that we have played. We need to start taking our chances more because more experienced teams are punishing us when they get their chances. We need to keep playing the same way, score more goals and then things will go our way."
Evan was the young boy at Tannadice but found himself old in the Dunfermline squad. Now 18, the Renfrew lad enjoyed the responsibility that caused both on and off the pitch:-
"You try and help the boys who are younger than you but next season I hear that they want a small strong first team squad along with a stronger 20s squad. That will be good and create better competition which is always good. We are battling for places to try and get up into that first team."
