Josh predicts good times have just begun

Josh Falkingham thoroughly enjoyed the final match of the season and spoke through emotions as he said:-

"It is a great day, I might never get one again. I have enjoyed it, the game went well, we got a good result in front of family and all those fans.

"It might be my last time out at East End so for me it has been an amazing four years. Everybody has backed us; it has been really good.

"I would love to stay I have had an amazing time here. I have been through dark days and for me I would love to be on the up now. We have had a great year, they are a great bunch of boys and I would love to push on for the good times again.

"I am sure that they will come to this great club. You can see today from the amount of fans there, it is ready to go to be a Premier League club. I am sure with the right foundations that they have built it will get there and I would love to be part of that. If not it will be a result that I look out for for the rest of my days.

"The realisation that this might be the last time I give you an interview - all week there has been a build up. It means a lot to me. That's how I play, that's how I am. It could be my last time but hopefully not.

"It is up to the manager now, you will have to ask him. I want to stay but it is the manager's decision.

"I feel like I have played a big part. I am at a good age and I cannot say it enough, I would love to stay at the club after everything that we have been through.

"When you get the good times you want to keep going and be a part of it. What the future holds for myself is unknown.

"I will enjoy this day, enjoy the weekend and see what follows."

Josh reflected on his first season at the club when he joined a club that had its eye firmly on achieving promotion to the Premier League.

"A lot of people forget In January that season we were top of the league and with the boys that we had that year we would have won that league and gone on and kicked on again. Obviously circumstances change quickly and it has taken us a couple of years longer than we expected to get back.

"I am going out on a high, whatever happens now, I am chuffed to bits that I played a small part in getting the club back on its feet. Hopefully people will remember that.

"There is a sense of relief because it is okay saying it but this club deserves to be in the Premier League but it is about getting out there and doing it. It is great to back where we belong."

The trophy presentation followed a win over Peterhead that really had Josh chuckling:-

"We have had a good few tough run ins but I love all that side of it. Today was exactly the same, we didn't expect anything less. It was a nice end of season friendly" he joked.

"There were a few 50-50s flying about but I wouldn't have it any other way."
