Disability Access Officer

To enable disabled people to follow football in Scotland

The Scottish Disabled Supporters Association was launched in October 2010 with membership open to disabled supporters, their personal assistants, family and friends who support clubs at all league levels in Scotland.

The association has had a strong relationship with the Scottish Football Association and the Scottish Professional Football League.

The aims of SDSA and their mission are:

• To enable disabled people to follow football in Scotland
• To achieve equal access for all football supporters in Scotland
• To increase disability awareness and improve the lives of disabled people using the special influence of football within Scotland
• To establish a Scottish network of disabled football supporters
• Clubs who have regular disabled supporters whom the SDSA have not been in contact with
• Contacts at football clubs who are responsible for disabled access to enable the SDSA to communicate with them
• Individual disabled supporters who would be interested in supporting the SDSA

Ross McArthur, DAFC Managing Director stated

"DAFC’s Disabled Access Group are now actively involved in the SDSA and to meet requirements, our Disability Champion, Ishbel Russell, will now be known as Disability Access Officer.

"Since becoming DAFC’s Disability Champion, Ishbel has been involved in many projects and her role will now also involve working with DAO’s from other clubs”
