Sponsors Day
Sunday, 24th Apr 2016Jim Leishman presented the Sponsors Day held in the Purvis Suite at East End Park on Sunday.
This was an event for all the fans who had sponsored strips and training gear. There was a question and answer session with almost every player in the first team squad present before sponsors were photographed with the player sponsored.
On behalf of the players and staff Allan Johnston thanked those present for their backing and wished for another successful season next year.
Some of the sound bites from players:-
"It has been a great season for me and the lads as well. The manager has had the confidence to play me every week. I think my favourite goal was against Ayr away." Faissal El Bakhtaoui
"It has been brilliant, there have been a lot of good times and a few bad times. Favourite goal was here against Ayr." Shaun Byrne
"There are a lot of young boys in the team learning their profession and in the next couple of years there could be big time here." Roy Barry
"I can't think there is a full back in the league that I don't like playing against, I think I enjoyed playing against them all" Joe Cardle
"It has been great to play my part. I put the balls into the box but the boys have got to be there. My favourite goal, that thunder strike against Dundee United." Michael Paton
"I have enjoyed coming back to the club. A lot has changed but there are still a lot around for before as well." Sean Murdoch
"Last year was so frustrating, you thought you were going to win games and then lose them by losing silly goals. This year we got off to a great start and although Peterhead and Ayr gave us a run but we left them lying." Mo Hutton, kit man, 13 years with the club.
"It has been a lot more attacking this season. The players we have got in the team have a lot of pace about them. It is quick from the very start. My favourite goal was down at Ayr because I was getting a bit of stick for not scoring against them, from both sets of fans!" Michael Moffat, 15 goals this season.
"I wasn't playing at the start of the season but I have enjoyed playing 90 minutes again at Brechin. Lewis Spence (on loan to Brechin City)
"I am still really young as a coach and I have learned a lot from Allan and from Sandy. Different things all the time and you need to take a wee bit from all the managers that you have worked under as a player and those managers that you have worked with and who knows what can happen in the future. John Potter
"We have had a great season, the lads have performed really well and in an ideal world we would keep every single one of them but it doesn't work that way. We need to work to planned budgets. Sandy Clark
"I am looking forward to Magaluf," Ryan Wallace
