Trio sign up for next year
Friday, 22nd Apr 2016Championship squad starts to take shape, with three key players secured for next season
Our club is delighted to announce that three of our key first team players have today put pen to paper on new and extended contracts.
Joe Cardle has signed a two year extension, whilst Ben-Richards Everton and Jason Talbot have both signed a one year extension.
Allan Johnston was naturally pleased with today’s business:
“I am absolutely delighted to secure another three of our squad for next season. It has taken time but we are starting to get the core of the squad secured for next season. Obviously the three signed today have been big players for us. Jason, Ben and Joe have all played a major part in the success we have had this year and all want to go and do well again next year so we are delighted to get them on board as we start re-building for the Championship.
Big Ben” Richards-Everton stated:-
“Yeah I am delighted to sign and finally get things done and hopefully kick on next season. This was the place for me, because I had probably another option as well but this was where that I wanted to stay. The gaffer being here and the season we have just had, being successful was a massive thing for me. I also have a great relationship with the fans, as they have been great with me since I have come in, so it was an easy decision.”
Jason Talbot commented:-
“I am obviously delighted to sign, it’s a massive club and that is the reason why I joined in the first place. I never saw it as a step down when I signed last year. It was always a positive move for me, moving from Livingston. We have taken a step forward and hopefully we can progress and be a successful team in the Championship. In that league we need to maintain our professionalism and attitude, and if we keep that right and we work harder than the other teams around us, then I have no doubt we will be successful”
Joe Cardle was also pleased:-
“Yeah just delighted to get it over and done with, obviously it has been going on the last couple of weeks with the gaffer and Ross. Obviously I can look forward to next season now, it has been a fantastic year for everyone involved at the club and it has been only a matter of time for the club to get back to where they belong. I am so very proud to sign a new contract at the club, as this is where I love to play my football and I am looking forward to next season already”.
