Allan Johnston's initial comment was that the game against Ayr United must have been a good game to watch. He told the media:-
"There was loads of excitement. Looking back on the game I thought in the first half we were probably the better team for long periods. They came into the game ten minutes before half time, scoring from a setpiece which gave them a massive lift.
"Obviously we made a silly error for the second goal as well and gave ourselves a mountain to climb. The game flipped on its head with the sending off. It was a sending off because it hits his hand. We totally dominated it from then on.
"We played at Ayr with ten men and it shows you that it is difficult to break down (ten men). We won that game. We showed the quality that we have got that we managed to break them down and get the goals we needed."
Was the Pars boss worried at two goals down?
"Not with the players that we have got. Obviously you are disappointed because we knew that Ayr would come here and make it difficult to play against them. They have quality players going forward but we have scored a lot of goals this year. We are always capable of scoring goals and put teams under pressure."
It was important to get a goal back before half time and the added time penalty was not an opportunity that Michael Moffat was going to miss.
"With them scoring just before half time as well with the error that we made at the back - I think it was Joe (Cardle) who got caught in possession - so it was two poor goals from our point of view and credit to the boys they showed unbelievable belief to come back and win the game."
The manager was not claiming to be hard done by when an offside decision meant that Dunfermline were denied a goal in 27th minute of the match:-
"You can see why the referee has disallowed it. It looked as though maybe Joe has ducked and maybe put the keeper off. We were a bit unfortunate there."
The equaliser early in the second half was given to Joe Cardle even though it appeared to be turned in b Ayr United captain Nicky Devlin. He commented:-
"I think Joe would crack up if I said that I would have given it to their defender. It was definitely a goal for Joe.
"We showed a lot of quality, showed composure in the final third and managed to get the goals."
Eight points clear of Peterhead and now 13 clear of Ayr United, Allan was not willing to accept the suggestion that the League One title was now wrapped up.
"Peterhead won again, they are on fire just now and they are the form team at the moment. As I said to the boys before we have just got to make sure that it is us that get the results. Don't focus on anybody else, make sure that we keep producing performances that get results. You can see the crowd getting behind the players, that makes a massive difference.
"They know that they have not achieved anything yet and that we have to work even harder to make sure that come the end of the season we are in a winning position."
