The club extends its condolences to David's family and friends.
Signed in August 1959 from Bo'ness United, Davie made only 12 appearances for the Pars before his transfer to Leicester City for £8,000 six days before the start of season 1961-62. The fee was a record for the club at the time. He scored just 6 goals for the Pars, including the first against Celtic in the 1961 Scottish Cup Final replay.
Davie played in two of the eight 1960-61 Scottish Cup ties, the replays against St Mirren and Celtic. Davie left the Pars before the next season began to join Leicester City having first come to the attention of Leicester manager, Matt Gillies, when the teams met in floodlight friendly in September 1960.
Davie lived in Skinflats, his son in law Stuart Campbell wrote to the club:-
"Can you please pass on thanks from Davie’s family to all involved in arranging the minutes silence at the game last night. It is something that Davie would have appreciated.
