Skipper praises Peterhead's trawl

Andy Geggan felt that his team did enough on Saturday to deserve a win at Peterhead. He told the media:-
"The wind made it a game of two halves. We forced the keeper into a couple of great saves but a draw is better than a loss. They always give us a hard game when we come here and I thought they played it well. Obviously they were time wasting towards the end and fair play to them."
That reflected on how well Dunfermline played in the second half when they had the advantage of having the wind on their backs. Andy came close to scoring in both halves and of his two very good second half headers he said:-
"I thought the first one was in but looked up to see it going by, then the second one I have no idea how the keeper pulled off that save. It had a wee bounce in front of him but he still saved it."
The Pars captain put in a sterling effort, leading by example and he covered a large area of the pitch. He was forward to execute dangerous headers but was also everywhere in midfield and defence to break up Peterhead's play and put in a great many timely tackles. The 28 year old who is in his fourth season with Dunfermline since joining from Ayr United in June 2012 continued:-
"I am feeling a lot fitter and have just about got over this cold that I have had for the last couple of weeks."
The Blue Toon inflicted the Pars only away defeat of this league season back in August and the next two matches have ended on goalless draws. Two points from a possible nine is the worst haul from any opponent and the last league fixture of the season is against Peterhead at East End Park on 30th April. Andy hopes that promotion is secured before that season finale:-
"Every year we seem to get the one bogey team, it was Airdrie last year but seems to be Peterhead just now. They are always up for a physical fight and they always make it hard for us.
"We have been watching their goals - something like 27 goals in the last eight games. I think they are strong favourites to finish second, their manager Jim McInally will keep them going."
