Geggan has it stitched up

Saturday, 16th Jan 2016

Andy Geggan - "Promotion would mean a lot to not just us but to the fans and the board who kept the club together."

Andy Geggan was disappointed to take the cup knock out on Tuesday night in Dingwall but the Pars captain felt that there were a great many positives to take from the two matches against Premiership Ross County:-

"I thought we held our own against a top six team. They have been flying and it just shows you what level we could be at. Jim McIntyre said that they dodged a bullet in the first game and on the second game he said we did well because we stopped them from playing. If we can keep this team together it is going to make a right good team."

The priority is definitely getting out of League One and Andy praised the team spirit in the Dunfermline squad and claimed that after surviving the administration era he would find promotion "absolutely amazing".

"I have been through it all. Promotion would mean a lot to not just us but to the fans and the board who kept the club together."

Geggs has scored a total of four goals so far so he is ahead of last season's total at the same stage. He totalled seven in 2014-2015 and hopes to surpass that.

"It has been harder scoring this season because Allan Johnston is playing me in a different position. I don't think he really wants me to go over the half way line! As long as we are getting three points and winning this league I do not care."

The head that was well bound with bandages to enable him to finish the match at Dingwall has healed enough. He thinks that the wound on his forehead that required three stitches after the match on Tuesday night will not bother him.

"I will get it covered. I was just going up for a header with Alex Schalk but he just came straight into me and header me as well."
