Talbot takes tumble but team still in tie

Sunday, 10th Jan 2016

"A replay is good enough but the win would have been much better. We are still going over the chances we created.

Jason Talbot lay injured in the opposition half as his team conceded a 26th minute penalty against Ross County in Saturday's William Hill Scottish Cup tie. He recovered as did his side who were able to recover from the set back of going 2-1 behind when Brian Graham scored from the spot kick.

"To come back from behind twice was a magnificent effort but we were disappointed going into the changing room. I thought we had enough chances to win the game. They had one in the second half that was cleared off the line, that was about it.

"They cleared one off the line as well and Scott Fox has made a great save and he reacted well to one that he saved earlier and got back up. At the level they play in the Premiership we need to take chances and not concede."

Justice appeared to be done in earning a replay because it looked like Jason had been fouled in the lead up to the penalty kick that gave County their second goal. The full back continued:-

"To be honest, I do not even know what happened. I just went to press and next thing I knew I was lying on the floor. When I stood up I discovered that they had a penalty so I will have to look back and see what happened. I think it was a bit of an injustice to us to be honest.

"A replay is good enough but the win would have been much better. We are still going over the chances we created. I thought we played very well.

"We have the belief to go and beat anyone. We proved it against Dundee and then against Dundee United. We were unlucky against United and unlucky today but we have a strong belief that we can go and beat anyone."
