“WE DID IT FOR NORRIE"
The Norrie Exhibition opens Tuesday 29 December
We are pleased to announce that the Norrie Exhibition opens Tuesday 29 December. It will be based in the foyer of the club shop, the old DASC supporters shop and the long corridor behind the administration office, all of which will be clearly signposted.
Heritage is about our memories, both collective and individual, and Norrie McCathie looms large in each category for DAFC and for Pars fans. Therefore, it is an honour for Dunfermline Athletic Heritage Trust (DAHT) to put on this exhibition and we are grateful for all the items loaned to DAHT for the event, by Norrie’s family and Pars fans.
Wheelchair access can be provided, on request.
The exhibition is open from Tuesday 29 December until Saturday 16 January from 11am to 3pm on the following days:
Tue 29 Dec, Wed 30 Dec, Sat 2 Jan
Tues 5 Jan, Wed 6 Jan, Thu 7 Jan, Fri 8 Jan, Sat 9 Jan.
Fri 15 Jan, Sat 16 Jan
As with all the events, the theme is #SPIRIT, so often displayed by Norrie on the football field. Specially-commissioned wallboards trace Norrie’s career, there are personal items (eg his first and last DAFC football boots), along with signed shirts, mementos and previously-unpublished from family and fans. There are newspaper articles and scrapbooks from the time of his death, with space to read and reflect on them. And individual fans can write their own thoughts and memories of Norrie in a book, which will be given to Norrie’s mother after the exhibition closes.
It promises to provide a fantastic tribute to a fantastic Pars captain and leader.
