“WE DID IT FOR NORRIE"
Important update for supporters
We are expecting a larger than normal attendance for our match against Cowdenbeath on 2 January 2016. As well as being our traditional “New Year Derby”, it will of course allow our club and its supporters to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Norrie McCathie’s tragic death.
Therefore, we would urge as many supporters as possible to purchase their match day tickets in advance of the match, by visiting the DAFC Club Shop, to avoid long queues at the ticket kiosks on match day.

In the run up to Christmas the DAFC Club Shop at East End Park will be open at the following times:
Tuesday 22nd December - 10am to 4pm
Wednesday 23rd December - 10am to 4pm
Tuesday 29th December - 10am to 4pm
Wednesday 30th December - 10am to 4pm
Saturday 2nd January - 10am to kick off
As from 5th January, the shop will then revert back to the normal opening hours of Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10am to 12pm
We would ask for all supporters to arrive early and be seated, no later than 2.55pm so that they can participate in our tribute to Norrie, before the game commences.
The DAFC players will wear our specially commissioned one off blue and red quarter strip, and the first team jerseys will be numbered 1 to 11 as normal on the day.
Both teams, match officials and (11 home mascots) will walk from the tunnel area to the centre line at 2.55pm. For this match only, instead of "Into the Valley," Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" will be played as the players walk to the centre circle, as this was Norrie's favourite song. All of the players, match officials and mascots will then line up on the centre circle facing the Norrie Stand so that they can see the fantastic card display that is planned in the Norrie Stand. A sneak preview is provided below:
Our PA announcer will then provide a short tribute to Norrie, and then ask all supporters to observe a minute's silence, on the referee's whistle, as a mark to respect to Norrie. The supporters in the Norrie Stand will then raise the cards to form the display, during the minute’s silence.
Supporters are free to organise a round of spontaneous round of applause in the 4th minute, as a further tribute to Norrie.
