Lothian 68 goes to town
Monday, 5th Oct 2015Lothian 68 Supporters Club, in conjunction with the Pars Supporters’ Trust and the 1885 Business Club.
Lothian 68 Supporters Club, in conjunction with the Pars Supporters’ Trust and the 1885 Business Club, held a relaxed and enjoyable evening in Dante’s Restaurant in Colinton on 30 September. Supporters of Dunfermline Athletic filled this Edinburgh restaurant, thanks to the efforts of John Burt, Darren Forrest, Margaret Ross, Iain Clark, Dave Dawson and Donald Adamson. The Margiotta family provided great Italian food to the assembled company, and even wore Dunfermline tops for the evening.
Ross McArthur introduced the evening, and the turnout included Pars Legend Roy Barry (himself born and raised in Edinburgh), as well as current players Callum Fordyce, Faissal El Bakhtaoui, Ben Richards-Everton and Michael Moffat. It was especially pleasing to have the Club Captain present, and everyone wished Callum well for a speedy and successful recovery from injury. The company then enjoyed a very fine meal in what is something of a Pars base in Edinburgh.
There was an informal Question and Answer session, which was a mixture of serious and light-hearted questions. For example, on one hand Callum discussed his likely rehabilitation programme, whilst on the other he revealed that he and his partner, Zoe, had just got the keys to their new home, but he would be more ‘management’ for the big move, as family would be doing the heavy lifting!
The Edinburgh-based Pars expressed their satisfaction with regard to how the season had started, and also their confidence in the Management and playing staff.
Lothian 68 will also be running a bus (now full) to the forthcoming game against Albion Rovers in Coatbridge. This is in memory of the late Archie Anderson, a stalwart of Lothian 68, and who is much missed.
